The conference, organized by the Rabbinical Centre of Europe (RCE) will open ontomorrow in the French capital in the presence of the two chief rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Amar and Rabbi Yona Metzger.

The RCE is an organization dedicated to assisting more than 600 rabbis as well asJewish communities across Europe.

Many rabbis told the RCE that there is large scale of assimilation amongst parts of European Jewry and that many communities are “disappearing” as a result.

“The RCE leadership believes that assimilation is the greatest threat to the Jews of Europe, even greater than anti-Semitism and terrorism. Onlya return to Jewish ily values in a modern context will stem the flow,” the group said.

Several lectures and workshops are scheduled during the conference that will allow rabbis the opportunity to share their experiences, successes and failures with their counterparts.

The conference is an opportunity to gather rabbis representing a wide spectrum of outlook, with prominent rabbis from the UK, France, Russia and other large communities who will mix with rabbis from extremely small communities such as Kyrgyzstan, Latvia orMalta.

They will touch on many subjects that rabbis around Europe have sought answers for within their communities.

The conference will also hear recommendations from some of the leading luminaries in the Jewish world on many issues, including those pertaining to couples therapy and drug addiction.
