RCE Activities

As part of a pre-Chanukkah mission, the Chief Rabbi visited Jewish communities across Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Munich, and Berlin, meeting with local rabbis and government officials. The visit culminated in the central menorah-lighting ceremony at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, attended by the President of Germany.

Members of the Shechita Committee of the Rabbinical Centre of Europe conduct a professional inspection visit at the “Euro Glatt” kosher meat slaughterhouse in Poland.

As every year before the High Holidays, a special delegation from The Rabbinical Centre of Europe set out to strengthen Jewish communities.

The course was led by Rabbi Eliyahu Bar Shalom, Chief Rabbi of Bat Yam and author of the Mishpat HaKetubah series. Community rabbis from France and other European countries participated in several days of intensive study, concluding with a comprehensive examination.

In a complex logistical undertaking, approximately one hundred thousand Hanukkah menorahs will be distributed to Jews across Europe. • This is the sixth year of the project, which is generating widespread attention across the continent. • The project, now in its sixth year, spreads the light of Hanukkah among Jewish communities in Europe, reaching even the smallest and most remote communities on the continent.

Members of the RCE leadership and presidium council met with the Rishon LeZion Rabbi David Yosef and Chief Rabbi Kalman Bar • The Chief Rabbis assessed the extensive activities across the continent and promised to support the central organization in Europe and assist in its sacred work

The directors and rabbis of the RCE took their annual tour to strengthen Jewish communities • The communities warmly thanked them for the uplifting visits in preparation for the High Holidays

The shechita, carried out by a team of experienced and seasoned ritual shochtim, was closely supervised by the Vaad Hashechita, led by senior rabbis specializing in kashrut • This initiative follows the decision of the Rabbinical Council of Europe to work towards lowering the prices of kosher meat in Europe

Just before Yom Kippur, RCE leaders together with Rabbi Avraham Yosef set out on a chizuk mission in remote Spanish communities * Community heads warmly welcome the RCE leaders for their efforts despite the difficulties involved.

The Rabbinical Centre of Europe has informed hundreds of rabbis of the establishment of a Beit Din designated to ascertain the Jewish origin of those who wish to join the communities. The decision was the result of years of dealings with difficult issues relating to marriages, burials and more.

Over 100,000 Chanukiyot were distributed in Europe by the Rabbinical Centre of Europe • The kits contained candles, dreidel, and an instruction booklet with the Brachot for lighting in four languages: English, French, German and Russian • Rabbi Shmuel Brodman of the Munich community and Rabbi Yosef Amar from Area 77 in France enthusiastically talk about sparks lit in Jewish hearts
