PURIM PROJECT: Over 100,000 ‘Mishlochei Manot’ were sent to Europe Communities
The ‘Mishlochei Manot’ were packaged by the ‘Rabbinical Centre of Europe’ and were distributed by Rabbis of the Jewish communities throughout Europe.
There is not a minute to waste at the “Rabbinical Centre of Europe”. Recently the delivery and distribution of 100,000 packages to 560 Jewish communities across Europe has been completed.
The complex logistical operation was carried out under the supervision of Rabbi Yosef Bainhaker, Deputy Director General of the ‘Rabbinical Centre of Europe’.
The packages were loaded in huge cartons in a special operation conducted by the ‘Rabbinical Centre of Europe’ together with the BASSAD organization led by Rabbi Yehuda Reichman and the ‘European Jewish Association’ run by Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin.
Director General Rabbi Arie Goldberg emphasized the tremendous effort invested in logistic management. Despite shipping restrictions during this complicated pandemic, much effort has been made to reach all places on the continent, even to remote places. Rabbi Goldberg added that at the moment the staff is simultaneously preparing for the Pesach Project where tens of thousands of boxes with “Kezayit Matzah” will be distributed to all that request in Europe.
This is the second year that the ‘ Rabbinical Centre of Europe’ has organized a delivery of ‘Mishlochei Manot’ included snacks and sweets, to 560 communities in Europe. At the same time, the RCE distributed Megillat Esther to Jewish communities in 5 languages: English, French, Russian, German and Hebrew, so small groups can read the Megillah together in the Jewish communities, according to the various government guidelines.
Due to the worldwide restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the RCE staff are very busy preparing for the delivery of matzahs and “Kezayit Matzah” to hundreds of communities throughout Europe. The delivery will be straight to the community rabbis who will distribute them to the community members near Pesach.
At present, a special kit has been distributed for children in the communities, from which the rabbis can teach the children about the Mitzvahs of Purim and Pesach, beginning with explanations all the way to the actual Holiday performance.
