Mikvah Attendant training course opened
The 7 sessions are designed for wives of European Rabbis which include fundamental matters In Halacha, the medical field and professionalism
As part of the many activities the “Rabbinical Centre of Europe” produces in the field of purity in the Jewish home, a mikvah attendant training course started in the month of Kislev. The 7-session course is compiled of fundamental Halachic, medical and professional issues and is designed for wives of European Rabbis, providing tools for the Mikvah attendants to deal with the unique challenges that come up as they encounter many various sectors.
Some of the topics were: Halachot of Purity, emphasizing the Halachot of Tevilah and Chatzitza, the importance of Tevilah, The Tahara procedure and the influences it has on the couple, The Mikvah attendants’ position and the effect on the Tevila experience, the difference between 2 types of Mikvahs, the uniqueness of the Chabad Mikvah, reference to the woman’s emotional state, and reference to special cases from experience in the field. During the course, participants acquire tools to deal with complex cases such as fear of water, compulsion, medical conditions in the mikvah etc.
The lectures were presented by the most prominent speakers as Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Raskin, Rebbetzin Bruria Ahkenazi, Mrs. Esther Gur, Mrs. Chana Stark, Rebbetzin Leah Halpern And Mrs. Perri Glitzenstein. All focusing on the fields of halacha and hashkafa, psychology and medicine.
At the end of the course, a certificate of accreditation recognized by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the religious councils will be awarded, on condition of attendance and receiving over 85% on the final test.
