Stars in the sky shine brightly at this late hour, still Rabbi Shmuel Houri the Rabbi of the Bogid community, (in memory of Hagaon Rabbi Bogid Saadon Zatz”al the unforgettable Rabbi of the Jerba community in Paris), sounds quite excited on the phone. “I am in the middle of an important meeting and will get back to you later” he promised. An hour and a half later, he still stops every few minutes to take care of last-minute preparations.

The significant visit will start on Monday 1th of Kislev, for three days, concluding on Thursday. The RCE delegation includes The Rabbi of Holon, Hagaon Harav Avraham Yosef, ‘Hidabroot’ chairman and mega speaker Hagaon Harav  Zamir Cohen, RCE’s Director -General Rabbi Arie Goldberg and others. The main goal is to fortify and energize the Jewish community in Paris, run by Rabbi Houri. The journey will start in Rabbi Houri’s shul followed by visits to the educational institutions and other shuls in Paris and its surrounding communities.

Weeks before their arrival, many communities expressed their interest in hosting the Rabbis and participating in the preparations. “It will be a visit never to forget, “said Rabbi Houri who is busy coordinating an itinerary for the Rabbis that contest of all the requested visits from the communities and at the same time won’t be too complicated for the delegation.

Rabbi Houri’s congregation contains 150 participants. The Rabbis will arrive in Paris on Sunday evening, starting Monday morning with the Shacharis services in the shul named after Rabbi Bogid. 2 minyanim will be held. The congregation consists of natives of Southern Tunis, Moroccans Algerians and even few Ashkenazim.

Rabbi Houri conducts a kolel and community Torah classes, and classes for women.
