Hundreds of Rabbis from all over Europe participated in the Central European Rabbis Conference for Matan Torah, initiated by the RCE. The conference was be presented by Rabbi Reuven Elbaz, head of Yeshivat ‘Or Haim’ and member of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah, Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi and Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, head of the ‘Migdal Or’ Institutions, Rabbi of Migdal HaEmek and member of the Chief Rabbinate Council.

The Torah conference was a continuation of a series of lessons and extensive activities conducted by the RCE in recent months, as the Coronavirus prevented conferences and lessons to be in person. All presented activities are Torah and professional classes on a variety of subjects provided to European rabbis and Rebbetzins.

 

Dozens of European Rabbis participate in series of daily classes in Halacha that take place on a unique channel.

 

Among the lessons expected to be delivered to the Rebbetzins during the month of Sivan are Rabbi Ya’akov Goldschmid, one of the leaders of ‘Yeshivat Tomchei Temimim’ in Kfar Chabad, on the topic of Shavuot. Rabbi Shneur Ashkenazi, a Chabad Shaliach and Rabbi of the Central Synagogue in Rishon Lezion, will give a lesson on mutual support. Mrs. Shoshi Zalikovitch, Mentor for Parental Safety will speak about close communication and child cooperation. Mrs. Galia Sabersov will elaborate on personal protection for children, how to talk to them and how to identify if they have experienced an injury.

 

Torah Topic Series were presented by Rabbi Yaakov Ruza, Ashkenazi Rabbi of the City of Bat Yam and Chairman of ZAKA Rabbis who in his series of lessons dealt with the treatment of deceased and burial laws. On Mondays, Rabbi Schneur Ashkenazi gave a hands-on lesson on coping together at home during times of stress. On Tuesdays, Rabbi Eliyahu Bar Shalom Sephardic Rabbi and author of ‘Mishpat Haketubah’ gave a series of lessons on the laws of Chuppah and Kiddushin. Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, Rabbi of the Orthodox communities in Budapest, taught Hilchot Shabbat on Wednesdays.

 

On Thursdays professionals shared their insight on various topics such as coping with the pressures at home and beyond during this period by the CEO of ‘Bayit Cham’ Rabbi Arie Munk. Rabbi Zvi Silver, financial advisor for institutions, organizations and household management, gave a lecture on financial management during crisis. Rabbi Eitan Eckstein, chairman and founder of ‘Retorno’, delivered a lecture on dealing with addictions during times of stress.

 

Alongside the classes, exciting activities for children were provided by actor Michael Veigel Hasidic writer R. Zalman Roderman, broadcaster Ami Maimon and a host of other children’s Hasidic hits.
